Jag är född och uppvuxen i göteborg, ända sedan jag var liten har jag ritat och målat. Jag är en självlärd bildkonstnär som jobbar med mediet traditionell porträttmålning. Till mina konstverk använder jag färgpennor från märket faber castell som jag blandar med tusch och akvarell. Min process är långsam och noggrann för att skapa perfektionism och realism. Det är viktigt för mig att få till rätt färgkombinationer för att både fånga rätt uttryck och ge betraktaren rätt sinnesstämning i förhållande till vad jag skapar. Jag eftersträvar en total fotorealism och att förmedla känslor i uttryck. Motiven föreställer ofta nutida artister eller djur. Artisterna jag väljer att avbilda är personer som jag tycker uttrycker samhällskritik och starka känslor som jag vill förmedla genom min konst.
Om konstverket: Mitt konstverk föreställer artisten Lana del rey. Hennes musik och låttexter inspirerade mig till att göra den här bilden. Titeln grundar sig i covid-19s effekter för artister. Bilden symboliserar sorgen i att inte kunna uppträda inför publik och hennes, i många fall, sorgliga låttexter. Jag försöker återkalla det ögonblick då hon skulle ha stått på en scen men inte kunde göra det. Tystnaden är bokstavlig som en besvärjelse, ett tragiskt öde som hotar att upplösa bilden av hennes musik som måste få upplevas live.
(English) I was born and raised in Gothenburg, ever since I was little I have drawn and painted. I am a self-taught visual artist who works with the medium of traditional portrait painting. For my works of art, I use colour pencils from the Faber Castell brand, which I mix with marker and watercolour. My process is slow and meticulous to create perfectionism and realism. It is important for me to get the right colour combinations to both capture the right expression and give the viewer the right mood in relation to what I create. I strive for total photorealism and to convey emotions in expression. The motifs often depict contemporary artists or animals. The artists I choose to depict are people who I think express social criticism and strong feelings that I want to convey through my art.
About the work: My artwork depicts the artist Lana del rey. Her music and lyrics inspired me to make this image. The title is based on the effects of covid-19 on artists. The image symbolizes the sadness of not being able to perform in front of an audience and her, in many cases, sad song lyrics. I’m trying to recall the moment when she would have been on a stage but couldn’t. The silence is literally like a spell, a tragic fate that threatens to dissolve the image of her music that must be experienced live.
