kamaran seydiyan

Kamran Seydian was born in the Kurdish city Mahabad in the
northwest of Iran. His father was a publisher and published books in Kurdish and Farsi. The content of these books was mostly political and religious, and some were children’s books. Seydian’s interest in art, especially in painting, started with reading children’s books and
paying close attention to the illustrations and pictures in these. At school, he drew and painted, making caricatures for classmates and also simple animations by drawing on the side of notebooks. From the age of 14, he started painting with oil and participated in youth group exhibitions. Later he used computers and programmes such as Photoshop and CorelDraw to design book covers and postcards that
his father printed. He also illustrated children’s books. Seydian completed a visual arts course at an academic institution in Iran. He then became acquainted with architecture and realized that architectural works were compatible with his interests. He graduated with a master’s degree in architecture and for many years was
professionally engaged in architectural works. Besides that, he also continued to make art. Seydian came to Sweden in 2017 and started studying Swedish. He worked as an architect in two companies and was employed as a project manager in the Gothenburg Municipality. Since coming to Sweden, he has made several paintings and held an exhibition of graphic work in Gothenburg.
