Tara Talebsafa is an Iranian-born artist who now lives and works in Gothenburg. They have previously studied dance full-time at Löftadalen Folkhögskolan. They have also studied the course “Film, text and performance” with a feminist focus at Kvinnofolkhögskolan. Now they are expanding their knowledge and studying to become international cultural project manager at Kulturverkstan. With inspiration from their origins and experiences, they create interactive environments where the artistic process is made visible and where the viewer can approach the vulnerability that Tara examines. Using her multi-ethnic background, knowledge and body, Tara wants to share her inner world, touch the audience and leave the audience with an opportunity to think anew, to look deep within themselves and gain new perspectives on their lives.
About the work: “A word that I keep coming back to, since I heard it and that has taken on a new meaning for me is a French word meaning story from the heart but also linked to the word courage. By showing myself vulnerable and creating art that are stories from the heart, is a way for me to understand myself and the world I find myself in. Having courage and being brave is telling things straight from the heart and daring to show the vulnerability that I carry forward.”
