exhibition.school is a resource website connected to an ongoing series of educational projects and research workshops, including masters level curatorial studies courses at Latvian Academy of Art, a series of art and politics courses at HDK-Valand and the OPEN UP Gothenburg project. The site is used as a research and learning support for both public and closed workshops that are affiliated to work in the broad area of exhibition studies, curating, contemporary art and the political imaginary, and de-segregation work.

The site was first created in connection with the curatorial workshop ‘handfuls thrown into air and scattered over earth‘ realised as part of the 9th Bucharest Biennale. (23-26 June 2020). More recently it has been used to support the workshop “Expo-Facto: Into the algorithm of exhibition?” a strand within the EARN Conference The Postresearch Condition in Utrecht. (26-30 January 2021): Speakers: Noel Fitzpatrick, Carolina Rito and The Aesthetics Group—comprising Cathy O’Carroll, Jeanette Doyle, Mick O’Hara and Connell Vaughan .
It is also a resource used for a series of courses on different aspects of art & politics. In summer 2021 it was used to support the intensive “The Political Condition of the Young Cultual Proletariat” (22-24 June) co-organized by Cătălin Gheorghe (Vector Studio,”George Enescu” National University of the Arts in Iasi) in partnership with Mick Wilson (Art & Politics summer course, University of Gothenburg) Speakers: Raluca Voinea , Corina Oprea, Rena Rädle & Vladan Jeremić, Vladimir Us, Vasyl Cherepanyn, Mick Wilson with Šárka Zahálková and Krisztián Gábor Török, and Viviana Checchia. Also in summer 2021 it was used to partly document the intensive “O My Friend, There Are No Friends” co-convened by Steven Henry Madoff (SVA New York) and Mick Wilson (University of Gothenburg)
In the academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 it was used to support the “Riga-rous Informal” workshop with the first year masters students of curating at the Art Academy of Latvia. In 2022 and 2023 it is being used to support the OPEN UP Gothenburg project.
